A Desert Engagement

While winding down January and gearing up for our move across country, I squeezed in a trip to Phoenix, AZ for work and pleasure. My college roommate and best friend has a close friend who is getting married this May, and she wanted to fly me to Phoenix to take their engagement photos and to also have a girls weekend with me. I thought the idea of giving a photo session to them for their wedding present was adorable, and of course I was totally up for the chance to see my long distance BFF!

I had met Isabelle once before, about a year ago when I last visited my friend. She is a nurse, a sweetheart, and a beauty! Her fiance, Josh, and her got engaged this past fall, and are quickly assembling a dreamy wedding in Arizona. As soon as I saw these two together, I became so excited to capture thier chemistry in beautiful photos.

Set in a quiet and breathtaking desert park, it didn't take much work on my end to get this couple comfortable and ready for photos. They were so at ease together, and my favorite photos ended up being ones of quiet moments where the two were in their own little world.

I loved the rocky landscape with desert plants dotting the ground; It created a unique and gorgeous backdrop for simple and beautiful shots. I believe they will have a nice unity with thier wedding location and theme.

I wish the best to this gorgeous couple. It was a joy getting to work with them and seeing thier love show through each image!
